Floors 1 to 5 - Easy

Enemy Types

  • Zombie soldiers (slow, predictable)
  • Skeleton warriors (medium speed)
  • Occasional bat demons (fast but low HP)

Strategy

These floors are perfect for practicing Issen timing. Use this section to build your soul reserves and warm up for harder floors. Kill enemies with Issen for maximum soul drops (3x normal). Do not use magic attacks or healing items here; save them for later.

Rewards

  • Fluorite on floor 5 (automatic)
  • Approximately 40-60 red souls total

Floors 6 to 10 - Medium

Enemy Types

  • Three-eye demons (fast, aggressive)
  • Ogres (slow but high damage)
  • Demon soldiers (balanced)

Strategy

Enemy aggression increases significantly. Use Raizan for its stun effect to safely interrupt enemy attacks. When fighting ogres, stay to their sides and punish their slow recovery animations. Use magic attacks on groups of 3 or more enemies.

Begin collecting blue souls here, as floors 6-10 have a higher blue soul drop rate than earlier floors.

Rewards

  • Fluorite on floor 10 (automatic)
  • Power Jewel on floor 7 (hidden in corner)
  • Approximately 50-70 mixed souls total

Floors 11 to 15 - Hard

Enemy Types

  • Elite demons (fast, high damage, high HP)
  • Armored ogres (resistant to normal attacks)
  • Mini-boss type enemies on floor 15

Strategy

These floors are where the Dark Realm becomes genuinely challenging. Use your strongest upgraded weapon (preferably Enryuu at max level for raw damage). Use magic attacks frequently, as enemies here have enough HP to make normal attacks inefficient.

Save Oni Mode for floor 15, which typically features a mini-boss encounter. Activate Oni Mode at the start of the floor to quickly dispatch the mini-boss with auto-Issen.

Rewards

  • Fluorite on floor 15 (automatic)
  • Magic Jewel on floor 13 (hidden in alcove)
  • Approximately 60-80 mixed souls total

Floors 16 to 20 - Very Hard

Enemy Types

  • Multiple mini-bosses per floor
  • Elite enemy waves with mixed types
  • Final floor: Boss-level encounter

Strategy

These are the hardest floors in the Dark Realm. Consume healing items freely, as you are near the end. Use Oni Mode on the floors with multiple mini-bosses to survive the sustained damage output.

On the final floor, you will face a wave of elite enemies followed by a boss-level encounter. Use your First-Aid Kit if needed. Once you clear the final floor, the Bishamon Sword appears as a reward.

Rewards

  • Power Jewel on floor 17 (hidden behind breakable object)
  • Bishamon Sword on final floor
  • Approximately 80-100 mixed souls total

General Dark Realm Tips

  • Exit at floor milestones: Leave at floors 5, 10, or 15 to restock items and upgrade weapons before continuing
  • Bring 8+ healing items: The Dark Realm is long and punishing. Stock up before entering
  • Farm early floors for souls: If you are under-leveled, repeatedly clear floors 1-5 for souls before attempting harder floors
  • Check every corner: Hidden items (Power Jewels, Magic Jewels) are tucked away in corners and behind objects
  • Use the right weapon: Switch weapons based on enemy types. Raizan for fast enemies, Enryuu for tanky enemies, Shiden for groups
  • Do not rush: Take your time on each floor. Rushing leads to mistakes and wasted healing items
  • Green souls heal for free: Always collect green souls to heal without consuming items

Frequently Asked Questions

The Dark Realm has approximately 20 floors. Each floor contains a wave of enemies that must be defeated to advance. The difficulty increases every 5 floors, with floors 16-20 featuring mini-boss level enemies. The final floor rewards the Bishamon Sword upon completion.

Yes, you can exit the Dark Realm at every 5-floor milestone (floors 5, 10, 15). Your progress is saved, and you can return later to continue from where you left off. This allows you to restock healing items and upgrade weapons between sessions.

The Dark Realm rewards include 3 fluorites (floors 5, 10, 15), 2 Power Jewels (floors 7 and 17), 1 Magic Jewel (floor 13), and the Bishamon Sword (final floor). You also collect large quantities of souls from defeated enemies, making it the best farming location in the game.

A maxed Enryuu (Fire, 100 attack) is recommended for the Dark Realm due to its high damage and burn effect. Raizan (Thunder) is also excellent for its stun effect on faster enemies. If you have the Bishamon Sword from a previous playthrough, use it for trivial clears.
