Prerequisites for Obtaining the Bishamon Sword
Before you can obtain the Bishamon Sword, you must meet these requirements:
- Reach the West Town area: The Dark Realm entrance is in West Town, accessible approximately midway through the story
- Be sufficiently leveled: Your primary weapon should be at least level 3, and your magic gauge should be at level 2 or higher
- Stock healing items: Bring at least 5 Herbs and 2 Medicines for the Dark Realm
- Have Oni Mode available: Fill your Oni gauge before entering, as you will need it for the harder floors
You do not need to complete the main story first. The Bishamon Sword can be obtained during your first playthrough as soon as the Dark Realm is accessible.
Dark Realm Walkthrough for the Bishamon Sword
The Bishamon Sword is awarded for completing all floors of the Dark Realm. Here is a floor-by-floor strategy guide:
Floors 1-5 (Easy)
- Enemies: Zombies and skeleton soldiers
- Strategy: Use Issen for quick kills and maximum soul collection
- Collect the fluorite on floor 5
Floors 6-10 (Medium)
- Enemies: Demons, ogres, and three-eye demons
- Strategy: Use Raizan for stunning or Enryuu for maximum damage. Save magic for groups
- Collect the fluorite on floor 10 and the Power Jewel on floor 7
Floors 11-15 (Hard)
- Enemies: Elite demons with faster attack speeds
- Strategy: Use magic attacks liberally. Save Oni Mode for floor 15
- Collect the fluorite on floor 15 and the Magic Jewel on floor 13
Floors 16-20 (Very Hard)
- Enemies: Mini-bosses and elite enemy waves
- Strategy: Use Oni Mode on the hardest floors. Consume healing items as needed
- The Bishamon Sword appears after clearing the final floor
Tips for Completing the Dark Realm
- Exit and re-enter: You can leave the Dark Realm at any floor milestone and return later. Progress is saved at every 5 floors.
- Farm souls between sessions: If you are under-leveled, farm souls on earlier floors before pushing deeper
- Use the right weapon: Enryuu (Fire) for damage, Raizan (Thunder) for safety, Shiden (Wind) for crowd control
- Manage your magic gauge: Do not waste magic attacks on single enemies. Save them for groups of 3 or more
- Save Oni Mode for emergencies: Only activate Oni Mode when surrounded or on the verge of death
- Collect hidden items: Check every corner of each floor for Power Jewels, Magic Jewels, and fluorites
- Heal between floors: Use green souls to heal between floors rather than consuming items
How to Use the Bishamon Sword Effectively
Once you obtain the Bishamon Sword, it becomes your best weapon for all content:
Combat Applications
- All-element coverage: The sword applies Thunder (stun), Fire (burn), and Wind (knockback) effects simultaneously, making it effective against all enemy types
- Room-wide magic: The magic attack clears entire rooms of enemies. Use it when surrounded
- Wider Issen window: The slightly wider Issen timing makes counterattacks easier to execute
- Maximum damage: With 150 attack, most normal enemies die in 1-2 hits
Best Uses
- Boss fights (especially Fortinbras and Marcellus 2)
- Dark Realm floors 16-20 (if returning for more farming)
- New Game Plus playthroughs
- S Rank completion attempts
