How to Unlock New Game Plus

New Game Plus (NG+) in Onimusha Warlords is unlocked simply by completing the main story and defeating the final boss, Fortinbras. After the credits roll, you will be prompted to save your clear data. Load this save file to start a new playthrough with various carry-over benefits.

What Carries Over to NG+

• Weapon levels: All weapon upgrade levels are retained
• Oni Gauntlet level: Your gauntlet upgrade progress carries over
• Items: Most key items and consumables transfer
• Fluorite count: Your fluorite collection progress resets
• Power/Magic Jewels collected: These do not carry over; you collect them again

NG+ is essential for obtaining the Bishamon Sword early and completing the game on higher difficulty for S Rank.

How to Access the Dark Realm

The Dark Realm is a bonus dungeon accessible during the main story, not just in New Game Plus. It can be accessed through a well located in the West Town area.

Access Requirements

1. Progress the story until you reach the West Town area (after the opening sections)
2. Find the well in the central area of West Town
3. Interact with the well to descend into the Dark Realm
4. The Dark Realm becomes accessible approximately midway through the story

Note: The Dark Realm can be entered and exited at any time once unlocked. You do not need to clear it in one sitting. Progress within the Dark Realm is saved at floor milestones.

Dark Realm Structure and Floors

The Dark Realm consists of approximately 20 floors of escalating difficulty. Each floor contains a wave of enemies that must be defeated to advance to the next floor.

Each floor also rewards souls upon completion, making the Dark Realm the best soul farming location in the game.

Ultimate Mode

After completing the game with all 20 fluorites collected and the Bishamon Sword obtained, Ultimate Mode becomes available. This mode starts you with all weapons at max level and maximum HP/MP from the beginning.

Mini-Game Mode

Collecting all 20 fluorites unlocks a mini-game accessible from the main menu. This is a soul-absorption challenge that tests your reflexes.

Difficulty Modes

Completing the game unlocks higher difficulty settings for subsequent playthroughs, featuring stronger enemies and new attack patterns.

3. Farm Power and Magic Jewels: These also reset, so prioritize finding them to boost your stats
4. Practice Issen: NG+ enemies hit harder on higher difficulty, making Issen mastery essential
5. Aim for S Rank: NG+ is the best time to go for S Rank since you start with upgraded weapons
